The story began in March 2000, when Peter and Denise Phillips launched a local Mortgage Choice franchise in Mackay.
Their vision was simple: provide local people with trusted finance advice and help them navigate one of life's biggest financial decisions — buying a home.
Over the years, that commitment to helping local families never changed, even as the business continued to grow.
👨👩👧👦 A True Family Business
Gardian's growth has always been built around family.
Luke Phillips joined the business as Gardian Insurance was established in 2005, while Ben Phillips joined the finance team in 2006 and became a key part of the company's continued expansion.
Today, the Phillips family remains heavily involved in the business, continuing the values that helped establish Gardian's reputation throughout the Mackay region.

As client needs evolved, so did Gardian.
